Her Story

A Nurse Who Became a Family's Greatest Ally

Elizabeth Almanzar-Wright has spent more than 25 years in healthcare — first as a bedside nurse, then as a care coordinator, and ultimately as a certified care manager who recognized that families needed something the healthcare system wasn't providing: a trusted expert in their corner.

Throughout her career, Elizabeth worked across hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, and community health settings throughout New York City. Again and again, she witnessed the same painful pattern: patients and families left overwhelmed, confused, and unsupported at the moments they needed help most — after a hospital discharge, in the middle of a complex diagnosis, or when an aging parent's needs began to exceed what their family could manage alone.

"I watched families struggle to navigate a system that wasn't designed to guide them. I knew there had to be a better way — and that I had the knowledge and experience to provide it."

That conviction led Elizabeth to found Salus Care Consulting — a private practice built on the belief that every family deserves expert, personalized guidance through the healthcare journey. The name Salus comes from the Latin word for health, safety, and wellbeing — values that sit at the heart of everything she does.

Today, Elizabeth works one-on-one with individuals and families across Manhattan and New York City, serving as their dedicated nurse care manager, patient advocate, and trusted advisor. Her clients describe her as the person who finally made the healthcare system understandable — and who fought for what their loved one truly needed.

Philosophy of Care

How Elizabeth Approaches Every Client

I

The Whole Person, Not Just the Diagnosis

Elizabeth looks beyond medical charts to understand the full picture — the person's values, preferences, living situation, and what truly matters to them. Every care decision is made with the whole human being in mind.

II

Families Are Part of the Team

Effective care management includes the people who love the patient. Elizabeth works to keep families informed, aligned, and supported — bridging communication gaps and helping everyone navigate difficult decisions together.

III

Advocacy Is Non-Negotiable

The healthcare system can be confusing, fragmented, and intimidating. Elizabeth's role is to be an unwavering advocate — asking the right questions, challenging assumptions, and ensuring her clients' voices are heard.

The Mission

Why Elizabeth Created Salus Care Consulting

After years of watching families struggle through hospitalizations, care transitions, and complex diagnoses without proper support, Elizabeth knew the healthcare system was failing them at the most critical moments.

Most families don't know what they don't know. They don't realize a care manager can attend medical appointments with them. They don't know they can request a family meeting with the hospital team. They don't understand that discharge planning should begin the day of admission.

Elizabeth founded Salus Care Consulting to close that gap — to give families access to the same expert knowledge and confident advocacy that healthcare insiders take for granted.

"Every family I work with deserves the same guidance I would give my own. That's the standard I hold myself to every single day."
